p>Freebies on Friday...only this is Tuesday...because I forgot to hit "publish"
on the article last Friday. ;) (sorry!)

This week's Freebie is a pdf printout for id'ing some common poisonous plants
when doing nature study. This is actually a page out of the nature study ebook
that goes with the ebook/DVD set, "Super
Simple Nature Sketching for Early Spring"...which
I highly recommend of course.
you can print off this print out to use as a coloring page and reminder to
watch out for certain plants we may find when hiking on trails, wandering in
fields, and enjoying the great outdoors.
Enjoy!
Download Here.

In the USA, today is Memorial Day. Growing up, I didn't really know what that meant. To me, it was that weekend when we broke out the barbecue, and had Monday off school and work. Actually, Memorial Day is to remember those who have given their lives to secure our freedoms in our country, and who have served in the armed forces. I only learned that around the same time I discovered Wikipedia...and that's sad because the whole idea behind a Memorial is to take the time to remember something.

Parsley is a super practical and very easy to grow plant for your herb garden.
Despite how fragile it looks, this is actually a pretty hardy little plant!
How hardy? Most of the time, I can find some a few months into the winter by
simply brushing away the snow a little. Because it's a perennial, I've planted
it once, and the parsley keeps growing back year after year.
Many herbs taste fine dried, but parsley is one of a few that tastes much
better fresh. It's not really expensive to buy fresh in the store (about $2
per bunch), but we use quite a bit of it, in quickie dishes like Tabouleh,
or just added to a regular salad for extra flavor, that I find it worthwhile
to grow some.
